Parvathy (Shraddha Srinath) a.k.a Paaru, is a restoration architect who comes to a small coastal village in Kerala for a project, while avoiding a marriage set-up back home. She finds a fairy-tale she had heard long ago as a child painted across the village. With the help of her friend, she ends up renting a house, filled messily with art and artefacts. She learns that it belongs to an artist named Maara (Madhavan) who is responsible for the paintings across the village. Maara is a free spirit and traveler who is often away visiting various places and returning as he pleases. When she starts cleaning up the place, she finds Maara’s photo and a sketchbook. The sketches depict the previous New Year's Eve when a small-time thief (Alexander Babu) tried to rob Maara. In a turn-of-events, Maara joins the thief, and they both go on the rooftop of a home with a plan to rob the place. There, they see a woman about to shoot herself. The sketchbook ends there, and the story is left unfinished, which piques Paaru’s curiosity about the rest of the story, and Maara as a person.

Intrigued, Paaru starts finding the people in Maara’s sketches. Backtracking his steps, she meets an antique dealer, Usman bhai, a “pirate”, Chokku and learns about Selvi (Abhirami), a physically abused woman that Maara had known. Maara and Chokku had taken Selvi out to sea for her birthday where after having an evening that alleviated her sorrows, Selvi committed suicide. Maara then ensures that her daughter, Rani is enrolled into a school. When Paaru gets news that Rani has gone missing from her school, she traces her back to her father’s lodge. Meanwhile Maara, who has returned to the village, tracks Rani down to the lodge and rescues her from her abuser. Paaru gets a glimpse of Maara but just misses an encounter with him.

One day, she meets the thief depicted in the sketches and enquires about that day's events. He informs her that Maara stopped the woman from shooting herself, and followed her when she started to run away from him. They find the house and finally identify the woman as Doctor Kani (Sshivada). Paaru then tracks her to a mountain village and enquires about her story. Kani explains that when she performed her first independent operation as a paediatrician, a surgical error led to the death of a 10-year-old girl. Further slandered by the media, she was desperate and about to commit suicide on New Years’ Eve when she was by chance, stopped by Maara. Maara then brings her to his mountain village, maintained by Vellaiya (Moulee), his foster father, and she has since been living there. Vellaiya, a retired postmaster and a hopeless romantic, has been searching for his teenage love Meenakshi for nearly fifty years. Vellaiya constantly tells the story of acting out a play to convey his love to Meenakshi, and eventually losing her when a storm flooded his home village.

When Vellaiya shows Paaru a photo of Meenakshi, she notices that she has on the same pendant of a conch as her aunt, Mary, who is a nurse at a convent. She brings her Aunt Mary to the village on Vellaiya’s birthday, realising that the plot of his play is the fairy-tale she had heard as a child from Aunt Mary - a story of an immortal soldier who spends years looking for his beloved mystical fish. An emotional Maara, who has spent all his adult life travelling from place to place in search of Meenakshi, thanks Paaru for fulfilling Velliya's wish. Paaru, who has chased one story after another in an attempt to find Maara, finally meets him in person. They introduce themselves and hold hands as they watch the sun set.

Vtikram a.k.a. Sulthan, (Karthi) a motherless child is raised by a group of hardened criminals who work for his father Sethupathi. He loves these 100 men as brothers lbut despises their taste for violence. Following the death of his father, the responsibility to take care of these men falls on the shoulders of Sulthan. That is when he decides to transform them and teach them to live as civilized people. It is a Herculean task, but the loyalty and the love that these men have towards him, gives Sulthan a fighting chance.

Sulthan aims to keep his brothers safe from the police operation, which is trying to rid Chennai of rowdyism. He thinks he has got just the opportunity when Otta Lorry (Yogi Babu) concocts a lie about a marriage proposal to him from a remote village,and falls in love with Rukmani (Rashmika Mandanna) the daughter of the village head (Ponvannan) . Sulthan decides to take the entire entourage to the village in a bid to keep them away from trouble. He doesn’t know that he is walking into just the situation he is so desperate to avoid.

49 robberies occurred on August 15th - Independence Day, with two masked robbers looting houses. The entire police force is clueless without the slightest lead or evidence. Assistant Commissioner Gayathiri (Sharaddha Srinath) is assigned to the case. She realizes that 50 houses were looted in total, with the 50th being the house of Chandru (Vishal), her former love interest. Chandru's grandmother (K. R. Vijaya) gets injured in the theft in an attempt to safeguard the Ashoka Chakra medal, which was bestowed to Chandru's late father (Nassar). However, the thieves knocked her down and stole the medal. Now, it is Chandru's personal mission to avenge them, retrieve the medal, and solve the case.

Chandru looks back at the case details and information from the victims to realize that the robbers had known the exact location of money and jewels in every house. He deduces that the robbers had visited every house beforehand and planned the theft to perfection. Hence, he writes down a list of people who can get access to people's houses and realizes that a company known as Dial For Help, which provides household services like technicians, plumber, etc., may be involved in the case. Hence, he heads to the headquarters and realizes that all 50 houses had been serviced by the company under a common number belonging to a man named Marimuthu.

Police rush to his house, only to find him already dead. Marimuthu's widow explains that her husband was a good man who had died two years ago. Chandru, with no other clue, returns. Meanwhile, an unknown person calls the Police Commissioner (Vijay Babu) and informs him that he was responsible for all the thefts thus far. He also challenges the entire force that no one would be able to track him down.

Accepting this as a challenge, Chandru tries to provoke the unknown person, which appears to be successful as he gives a clue to his location - 00100. The police realize that it refers to a place, and they rush to the place, only to find destroyed computers. Chandru reveals that he knew the person would have left, but he only rushed to find any clue that he may have left. After some time, Chandru heads back to share his findings.

He reveals that the number 00100 was written on the walls in that place and that it was drawn in such a way that refers to the queen in chess, and that the hacker had left a partial thumbprint on the scanner used to destroy all data. He further reveals that theft would occur in 58 more houses on August 23rd due to the CM's arrival. Lastly, he reveals that the hacker that they were searching for thus far was not a man, but a woman.

The unknown hacker is revealed to be Leela (Regina Cassandra), who works as a chess coach. A flashback shows that a young Leela (Baby Krithika) had loved her mother (Neelima Rani) tremendously, and both of them had a tight bond. Her alcoholic and abusive father (Aruldoss) tortures her mother every day. One day, Leela wakes up to find her mother died while in her sleep. Her father immediately marries another woman and brings with her two young sons. Later Leela's father reveals that he and his new wife had suffocated and killed Leela's mother. An enraged Leela kills both her father and stepmother using electricity and water. She uses her stepmother's two sons as baits for her thefts. Next, a cat-and-mouse chase begins between Leela and Chandru, in which Chandru wins. The movie ends with an open end for a sequel where Leela challenges Chandru by uttering the words "The game begins".

Patrick Hill begins work at Fortico Security, an armored truck company. After being commended by the superior Terry for his references, he is introduced to Bullet, who nicknames him "H" and oversees his training. H gets off to a rocky start with his colleagues, particularly Boy Sweat Dave, over his mysterious nature. One day, Bullet is taken hostage during a drop and the kidnappers demand the $2 million in their truck. When H and Dave meet the kidnappers, H easily dispatches them with expert marksmanship. H later sleeps with co-worker Dana Curtis and holds her at gunpoint to inquire her about a private cash stash he finds. She claims she stole money once from a liquor store for retirement savings, but insists it was the only time. H lets her live, but threatens further repercussions if he learns she is withholding further information.

Five months earlier, H is out with his son Dougie when he gets a call asking for his assistance with the recon of an armored truck for a robbery and reluctantly agrees. H stops on the other side of the bridge from the armored truck depot, and asks Dougie to wait in the car while he goes to a food truck by the depot. He calls to reveal the location of the truck as he gets food, but as the truck goes under the bridge, it is attacked by a different group of thieves dressed as construction workers, who kill the guards as well as Dougie for being a witness. When H runs toward them, he is gunned down as well, but survives. H is then revealed to be Heargraves, the boss of a crime syndicate. After Dougie's mom holds Heargraves responsible for Dougie's death and leaves, Heargraves demands to find the men responsible. After exhausting through a list of suspects, and coming up with no possible leads, Heargraves' associate suggests that the robbery was an inside job. Heargraves says he will fly back to London to clear his mind, but actually arranges a contact to provide him with the forged identity of Patrick Hill, as well as the autopsy report of Dougie's death.

The thieves of the construction job are a former military platoon, commanded by Jackson, and we learn that the man who killed the guards and Dougie is named Jan. Struggling to make ends meet, the group decides to start stealing money in increasingly ambitious heists planned in great detail by Jackson and Tom, while maintaining the façade of normal lives with families, with the exception of Jan. They first attempt to steal from a wealthy man for whom their fellow ex-soldier Carlos works as security, but come up with only a few hundred thousand dollars. They then resolve to utilize contacts in armored truck companies to steal millions of dollars. When they are given the Fortico heist, Jan kills the guards and Dougie against the wishes of the rest of the team.

Jackson and Tom bring the team together for a much larger but riskier final heist to steal over $150 million from the Fortico depot on Black Friday. H and Bullet are riding together when Bullet reveals he is the thieves' insider, and asks H to cooperate so he doesn't get killed. The thieves, dressed in full body armor, hide in the truck as they get into the depot and begin taking hostages, including Terry and Dave. One worker triggers the alarm and the workers behind the weapons desk begin shooting at the thieves, but are easily dispatched. H chokes Carlos and takes his body armor to fight back, inspiring Dave to do the same while Terry hides. Realizing they may not make it out, Bullet breaks his cover and kills Dave, Dana, and the remaining guards and shoots H. Bullet, Jackson, and Jan are the only ones to make it out of the depot, though Jackson is critically wounded. They evade police and make it to a garage where they have access to underground tunnels. Believing Jan will try to kill them, Jackson takes out a pistol, but Jan stops him and slits his throat. When Jan and Bullet make it to the end of the tunnel, Bullet takes out a gun to try to kill Jan, but Jan kills him first. Jan successfully makes away with all the money before the police can deduce what happened. At Jan's apartment, he finds a phone ringing in one of the money bags, which was planted there by H to track his location. H confronts Jan with Dougie's autopsy before shooting him in the same places Dougie was shot, killing him. H turns in the money to his FBI contact and drives off with one of his associates.
